Every 9 seconds in the US, a woman is assaulted or beaten. Every minute, about 20 people are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. That’s according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Durham Crisis Response Center works with the community to provide education and support regarding domestic violence and sexual assault. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and the guest provided information on how to get out of an abusive relationship.
