I disliked this young man immensely as well. He certainly seemed to have a little bit of talent, but that was largely overshadowed by his arrogance. I care little about his background -- it is of no moment in my perception of him, it being that I come from a not dissimilar background, admittedly -- but what was ultimately reprehensible about him was his character, after all, which is not necessarily related to his social class. This is a lad who could do with a great deal of refinement: inelegant, disdainful, quick to take pleasure in the misfortunes or mistakes of others, and not even endowed with the truly phenomenal talent that would make his many failings slightly more bearable (but definitely not pardonable, all the same, as immense talent nevertheless does not entitle you to inhuman actions).

I didn't know Max comes from money, but his satisfaction when others were getting criticized was quite annoying, and I personally prefer to stay away from personalities like these. But as many of you pointed out he is young and maybe he was labelled too much in the competition, so he decided to develop such a unpleasant attitude.

Max proved that coming from a privileged background doesn’t guarantee class or elegance. That he had the courage and the where-with-all to compete at 18 is great. That he was the only one looking smug and self-satisfied every time one of the others took a hit and dared call them “scumbags” is appalling! He said repeatedly that Suzy was arrogant – pot calling the kettle black and with a lot less to back it up. Confidence is one thing, arrogance is another – good riddance.

I think that Max's attitude was a great way to get respect and attention from the others. After all, he has been underestimated and labeled from the begining because of his age and social background. He doesn't alot of experience, so of course, he still has alot to learn but he has talent, he has ambition and he has guts. That kid (yes, may I remind you that he is still a kid) deserves a chance. The deitors are making it hard for him to, because they stuck to the stereotypes and made him look extremely arrogant andself absorbed, probablly much more then he was being to get respect from older and much more experienced competitors and very severe (though very good) judges.. I am sad he left because I think he had alot of potential. On the other hand,as he said it himself in a very kind and noble way, this competition could mean alot, both emotionally and economicly, to Christine who is home alone with kids and apparently has a bit of an insecure personality.

I liked Max! Honestly, I stopped watching the show after he was let go. Unfair. Masterchef has steadily gotten rid of the most interesting and talented competitors, and left us with mostly boring (everyone except Suzy) and one extremely annoying (Suzy) wanna-be cooks.

Hospitality Superstar: I am 16 and I know his mother, who I really like. I wanted to put in a word for her son. There are a lot of things to yell at people about in this world and I was wrong to start something up with you. There are all these internet stories about kids and adults alike killing themselves because someone said something to them and it crushed them inside. I really hope I didn't upset you in any way like that, though admittedly you hurt me a bit, even though I'm in high school and I don't really care about this show. It's funny that humans are so compelled to argue, isn't it? I guess arguments are healthy, as they sometimes lead to progress, but I'm sorry for my contribution toward making this one get out of hand. I wish you good luck with your cooking :) I hope you live a long and happy life, I really do. Do what you love, and let those you disagree with fade into the background. I'm sure they will. Peace, Mia

I don't know why everyone is picking on Max, just because he comes from money. That isn't his fault or quality. He is confident, and that is what will drive him, not his parent's money. Do you think Gordon Ramsay was any less "arrogant?" No way. Give the guy a break. He's talented and very mature and confident for his age. The two that irritate the hell out of me are Suzy (talk about arrogant!) and the crybaby, Christine, who uses her tears and drama all the time to get attention. Ycch.

Why is everyone so down on Max? He has self-confidence. I don't think he should be targeted just because he comes from money! He was my favorite. I think everyone is just envious. Not attractive.

Thank you for responding again. You're now official a complete moron. Thank you for proving my point. Haha! You obviously must be an older woman who deep down inside hates herself and her life. Haha, probably related too, since you neglected to defend that point of mine. I feel bad for you and I really hope someday someone will give you a hug. Once again, Max will not win because 1.) he can't work with a team, 2.) (defly not acting) he's a complete narcissist (must run in the family) Also on that note he is no Charlie Sheen. Trust me, no one is following Max except old blue hairs like you, and finally 3.) There is a few others that are slightly better cooks than he is with good personality, work ethic and team comradery. Once again those are attributes that daddy can not buy. My next post will be, see I told you so... But, I'm sure you'll have something to say next, hahahaha. I wont give you the time of day anymore till Max gets kicked off the show and for me to rub it in your face!

I knew you were the kind to respond to criticisms of random people on the internet! Seeing as I'm writing this, I guess I am too. Maybe we're cut from the same mold! Good for you for sticking to your ideals honey, just don't get yourself too worked up. But I'll tell you something: I don't think he wants or needs your respect because his attitude is getting his name known. Consider that he may in fact be acting for the entertainment of the majority (that is to say, not you), so let's not go judging him as a person. His methods may not be respectable by your standards, but that's the way the world goes round, isn't it? We get that you've worked hard in life (you've mentioned twice now, not that I'm counting), but as I have said (now twice), it's a TV show. Also, just as a side note: if you say "I accept your opinion" and get all holier-than-thou, best not to weaken your self-proclaimed superiority in acceptance by later telling the other speaker to continue sounding "like a fool" :)

Haha, "Username" I accept ur opinion unlike u did of mine. Pretty funny how ure bothered by my opinion to cause u to post ur own ad. U guys related? Haha! I really loved the ivory tower statement, too haha! Seriously though Im happy that u enjoy watching reality shows for the mere fact that drama like that entertains u. For me I watch only the reality shows that I can actually learn from. I am inspired by people who work hard & show their enthusiasm in wanting to become great at something. I dont respect anyone who acts like Max does. Ure right about one thing, I don't know him, but what I do know of him tells me that he is obnoxious and thinks he is better than everyone. He doesnt deserve respect from people like me who have become successful in this particular field from giving respect and working hard. So keep sounding like a fool and say what u want. He does cook well, I give him that, but Im not surprised how he cant work with others. That is something money cant buy, haha

Everyone who is complaining about Max is giving him just what he wants. The attention and exposure that anyone who agrees to be on reality tv opens themselves up to. Yes I agree, he is very arrogant, however isn't that what makes people talk and tune in? There is always two sides to a story. There is careful editing, and the "story" the producers want us to follow. Truth of it all, he can cook. That is the point of the show and the only real factor they consider in the judging.

Oh, "Hospitality SuperStar", how lovely it must be for you to sit in your ivory tower and throw judgment upon those who dwell within the realms of reality television. He is a teenage boy trying to do what he enjoys and get a bit of fame, and good for him for making himself the arrogant one of the group— it makes him stand out. In reality, people like you should thank him. If it wasn't for his attitude, you might not be able to spew whatever most likely ill-informed nonsense you have about his familial background about the internet, and what would be the fun in that? It's not your kitchen, it's a television program. I'm not calling you pathetic, darling, because it seems ridiculous to say that about someone one doesn't know (wouldn't you agree?) but merely pointing out that it is people like Max that make the show enjoyable. Oh, maybe that's just for me— you are the hospitable one after all. Keep that tower of yours sparkling!

Okay, first off let me say I love and respect Chef Ramsay and all his shows. I enjoy learning a lot from watching and listening to him. However, I am not a fan of the drama that takes place, but every "show" I guess needs it to keep the less intelligent entertained. Secondly and most importantly the reason why I am posting this comment is because I would like to make light of how arrogant and extremely unprofessional Max Kramer is. I bet my life and ever cent I saved and made from hard work (something he knows nothing about. Hard work is what makes a man or woman a real man or woman)in the hospitality industry that this spoiled rich kid will never win or become successful without his daddies money. It is truly sad how some individuals can be such pathetic jerks thinking they are entitled. He would never last in my kitchen. I look forward to the day he is eliminated. I know I am not the only one who thinks so including all of the contestants. aHahaha, he is such a joke.
