BIO: David Boreanaz
"FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth" on BONES
With a quiet intensity that plays well on both the small and big screen, David Boreanaz has continued to earn rave reviews for his work on BONES. In addition to his starring role, he is also one of the series’ directors, most recently taking the helm for the series’ 100th episode.
Boreanaz appeared on the big screen in the independent sports drama “The Mighty Macs” opposite Carla Gugino and Ellen Burstyn. In addition to voicing the role of “Hal Jordan” (a/k/a “The Green Lantern”) for the animated feature “Justice League: The New Frontier,” Boreanaz starred opposite Anne Heche in Alan Cumming’s independent black comedy “Suffering Man’s Charity,” which premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival.
While relatively new to acting when he landed a guest-starring role on the series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Boreanaz vaulted to stardom as the mysterious and tortured character “Angel,” who continued in his own spin-off series.
Boreanaz was introduced to the TV business at a young age as the son of a veteran weather forecaster for WPVI in Philadelphia. After graduating from Ithaca College, he moved to Los Angeles to try his luck in Hollywood. He got his first break with a guest spot on “Married With Children” as the biker boyfriend of “Kelly Bundy” (Christina Applegate).
On stage, Boreanaz starred in the Off-Broadway production of “Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell.” He has also performed in “Hat Full of Rain” at the Ensemble Theatre, “Italian-American Reconciliation” and “Fool for Love” at the Gardner Stage and “Cowboy Mouth.”
Boreanaz is an avid golfer, hockey player and traveler. He lives in Los Angeles with his family.
