With more than 900 million members worldwide on Facebook...it's pretty easy to do. But it's not good for you.
Researchers in the United Kingdom assessed the impact of continued Facebook "creeping"...following but not contacting the person or their friends directly.
In the group of 464 online survey participants, Facebook surveillance was associated with greater current distress over the
breakup, more negative feelings, sexual desire, and longing for the ex-partner as well as lower personal growth.
Those who remained Facebook friends with the ex-partner reported less negative feelings, sexual desire, and longing for the former partner, but lower personal
Growth compared to those who did not remain Facebook
So the advice? Move on for your own mental health.
