“THE CHEAPEST PEOPLE IN AMERICA”
While most people are trying their best to cut costs in today’s tough economy, Ricki’s guests are going to some serious extremes for a bargain. Ricki speaks with Roy, the self-proclaimed “Cheapest Man In America,” and his long-suffering wife, Lisa. They’ve been featured on TLC’s “Extreme Cheapskates” and he boasts that, on any given day, he can be spotted bartering for leftovers or “dumpster-diving” for hidden treasure...and he’ll be happily sharing some simple, if not bizarre, household tricks to help you save money. Also, Terence has two Ph.D.’s and over $100,000 in sixteen different bank accounts, but he has subjected his wife and children to such extremely frugality (their house has no beds and no furniture), that the family is at their wits end. Joining the conversation are Scott and Bethany Palmer, money therapists and the authors of The 5 Money Personalities: Speaking the Same Love and Money Language. And, stylist and fashion blogger Lindsey Calla presents some of the latest fashions for a fraction of the cost and Jeff Yaeger, author of How To Retire The Cheapskate Way, provides some additional cost-cutting tips.
