Currently in its fourth season, the two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning syndicated daily series "The Dr. Oz Show" is hosted by the two-time  Emmy Award-winning Dr. Mehmet Oz, trusted health expert, best-selling author, and world-renowned cardiac surgeon. MONDAY, MARCH 11, 2013  
Today Dr. Oz sounds the alarm over an era in medicine America has not experienced since  antibiotics were invented. Infectious disease expert Dr. Brad Spellberg joins Dr. Oz to warn against the overuse of antibiotics, claiming they  are  doing more harm than good, potentially creating superbugs that doctors won’t be able to treat. Ten million antibiotic prescriptions are given annually for viral infections  –  but antibiotics don’t work for viruses. Dr. Oz and Dr. Spellberg discuss why taking antibiotics for their duration could be bad and the do’s and don’ts to protect your family from superbugs.

Then, Dr. Oz talks with body language expert Chris Ulrich and Dr. Darria Long Gillespie from Harvard Beth Israel Medical Center about those nonverbal cues that send out messages to the world about what you are really thinking and feeling. They say that your body language can provide valuable clues to your health.

This may be the most significant breakthrough with science about sleep in the last decade. Dr. Oz has brand new research revealing that eating habits determine sleeping habits. The research has discovered four sleep types, all based on diet – and how your sleep determines your risk for diseases. Today Dr. Oz focuses on the latest meat problem, and wants to know if you ever wonder what’s in your meat. Horse meat was recently found in mislabeled products as beef, and three suppliers’ products have already found their way across half  of  the world. Dr. Oz sits with Urvashi Rangan from Consumer Reports to discuss the secrets of food labeling, and how to get the safest meat for your family.

Today Dr. Oz welcomes Meredith Vieira, the funny, charismatic news woman who worked on “The View” and hit the top of her career at “The Today Show.”  She sits with Dr. Oz to share how her home life has been just as challenging as her career.  She has recently stepped down from her co-anchor position, and has become the primary caregiver of her husband Richard - who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the young age of 25.  Richard then joins the stage to discuss his daily battles with the disease, and he reveals the other love of Meredith’s life.
