MAY'S CHARITY
Child's Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in our network of over 70 hospitals worldwide. Over the years, you as a community have answered the call and come together to raise millions of dollars. Child's Play works in two ways. With the help of hospital staff,we set up gift wish lists full of video games, toys, books, and other fun stuff for kids. By clicking on a hospital location on our map, you can view that hospital's wish list and send a gift. Child's Play also receives cash donations throughout the year. With those cash donations, we purchase new consoles, peripherals, games, and more for hospitals and therapy facilities. These donations allow for children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience. The response was overwhelming - within weeks, they had a garage packed full of toys, games, and gifts to brighten the holiday of many sick kids. That year, they raised over $250,000; a number that has grown each year; up to nearly $10 million as of 2010. FOX 50 Snap It 50 Contest RULES & REGULATIONS MAY 2013
HOW TO ENTER & WIN: No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local regulations apply. To enter and qualify for an opportunity to win, log onto www.FOX50.com, upload a digital photograph (.JPG format) demonstrating the theme for the month of May: "I LOVE Video Games!", and submit it using the official entry form available in the "Contests" section at www.FOX50.com. Limit one (1) entry per day, per household. Entries may not be duplicated. By entering, contestants grant permission to FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)/Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc. ("Sponsors") to display their photos or images on www.FOX50.com; however, Sponsors are not obligated to display any submission online. All entry information must be complete and accurate. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and ineligible and will not be considered. Sponsors will not award a prize to anyone not meeting all eligibility requirements at the time of entry. All entries and photos submitted online become the property of FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV) and will not be returned to participants. The contest period begins at 12:01am on 5/1/13 and ends at 11:59pm on 5/25/13. On or around 5/28/13, one (1) winner will be drawn at random from all eligible entries received by 11:59pm on 5/25/13 and offered the grand prize, subject to verification.
PRIZE VALUE & ODDS: One (1) verified prize winner will be offered the grand prize consisting of one (1) VISA Gift Card valued at $100 and the "Video Games Live Ultimate VIP Backstage Experience" for two (2), which includes:
a) two (2) VIP tickets to view the show from what are considered some of the "best seats in the house";
b) two (2) passes to a pre-show backstage tour led by "Video Games Live" creator and game music legend Tommy Tallarico;
c) Special Exclusive VIP area pre-show party access for two (2);
d) Special FRONT OF LINE access to the "Video Games Live" post-show meet & greet for two (2);
e) two (2) "Video Games Live" backstage laminated tour passes;
f) two (2) free download cards for the special extended "Video Games Live: Level 2" album; and
g) two (2) "Video Games Live" posters.
Total Approximate Retail Value: $400. The "Video Games Live" concert and the pre-show and post-show experiences are all scheduled for 6/7/13 at the Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh, NC. The "Video Games Live" concert is currently scheduled to begin at 8pm that evening, and the pre-show and post-show schedules (for tours and parties) will be determined at a later date before the event, at which point Fox 50 (WRAZ-TV) will make that information available to the winner via phone and/or email based on the information provided by the contestant on the entry form. Sponsors assume no liability or responsibility in connection with the use of any prize awarded hereunder nor in connection with any warranty or representation therewith and reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
All charges, fees and costs not specifically included in the prize description above, including but not limited to travel, meals, personal incidental items, taxes, tips and delivery, are the responsibility of the winner.
PRIZE REDEMPTION/CLAIM/RELEASES: The winner will be notified, via phone and/or e-mail based on the information provided by the contestant on the entry form, and his/her name will be posted on the www.FOX50.com website on or around 5/28/13. Prizes must be claimed in person at FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV) Studios located at 2619 Western Blvd., Raleigh NC 27615 during regular business hours by 6/7/13 or prizes will be forfeited and alternate winners will not be selected. Only actual verified prize winner will be permitted to claim prizes. In order to claim the prize, the winner may be required to present photo identification and to complete a signed affidavit of eligibility, prize acknowledgement and liability/publicity release form. The winner will be responsible for all taxes associated with the prize. Prizes may be considered income and taxes on said prizes are solely the responsibility of the winner. Compliance with all regulations is the responsibility of the winner. The winner and winner's guests, by acceptance of a prize, agree to release Sponsors and any of their parents, subsidiaries, agents, representatives, sponsors, affiliates, distributors, suppliers, and advertising/promotional agencies from any and all liability for claims, actions or proceedings for injuries or damages sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while traveling to, preparing for or participating in any contest-related or prize-related activity. Except where prohibited, by playing the contest, or by winning, participants have granted Sponsors the right to publicize their name, photograph or likeness, voice and biographical details, and have accepted and agreed to be bound by these rules.
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to win, you must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and a legal, permanent resident of the U.S. and of North Carolina. To be eligible, your submissions must meet the following criteria: (1) Photos/images must creatively demonstrate the theme for the month of May: "I LOVE Video Games!", (2) You may only contribute photos that you have taken yourself and that you have all rights to transmit and license and which do not violate trademark, copyright, privacy or any other rights of any other person. (3) You warrant that you have permission from any and all persons appearing in your photos in order to make the submission and grant the rights described herein. (4) You may not contribute photos that contain expressions of hate, abuse, offensive images or conduct, obscenity or pornography or any material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under applicable law or regulations. (5) You may not upload any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or this website. (6) By uploading a photo, (a) you grant to Sponsors a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, print, display, reproduce, modify, publish, post, transmit and distribute the photo and any material included in such photo on the Internet, on television, and in, on, or through all other media, at Sponsors' sole discretion; and (b) you certify that any person pictured in the submitted photograph (or, if a minor, his/her parent/guardian) authorizes Sponsors to use, copy, print, display, reproduce, modify, publish, post, transmit and distribute ("Use") the photo and any material included in such photo on the Internet, on television, and in, on, or through all other media; and (c) you agree to indemnify Sponsors and their affiliates, directors, officers and employees and hold them harmless from any and all claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising from Use of the photo and/or your failure to comply with these rules.
Members of the same family or household of winners who have won a prize valued over $100 in any FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV)-sponsored contest since 6/7/12 are ineligible to win this contest. Employees of Sponsors, their agencies, subsidiaries, representatives, sponsors, affiliates, distributors, suppliers, and advertising, promotional agencies and their immediate families are not eligible to participate. Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any entrant if the contest rules are not followed. No substitution of prizes or transfer of prizes to a third party is permitted by winner. No groups, clubs, or organizations may participate in this contest, or reproduce or distribute any portion of these rules to its members.
LIABILITY: Sponsors are not responsible for problems associated with television transmission, radio transmission, cable transmission, satellite transmission, phone lines, Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, or other Internet interruptions or malfunctions or for any technical or other difficulties which may prohibit, prevent, or interfere with the transmission of television or radio signals to all or limited geographic areas during the playing of the Contest or which may interfere with a contestant's ability to login or register or submit an entry online, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God that are beyond the control of Sponsors. FOX 50 (WRAZ)/CAPITOL BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC., DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, WARRANTY OF FITNESS, AND ANY OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTY. Sponsors are not responsible for cancellations, postponements, or delays.
Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to damage any online service or web site or undermine the legitimate and fair operation of the Contest will disqualify the contestant responsible and is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages and/or other remedies from any such person to the full extent permitted by law.
All decisions relating to the contest and interpretation of these rules are made by the management of FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV) in its sole discretion and are final. FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV) reserves the right to change the rules at any time to ensure the fair administration of the contest and compliance with applicable laws.
