This week's show highlights a nonprofit organization that provides youth ages 6 to 18 with encouragement, guidance and support – all in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. The John Avery Boys and Girls Club in Durham serves nearly 800 children each year through afterschool programs and summer camps. They’re all designed to help students succeed both in school and in life. Now the organization is asking the public to help support these students by participating in the first annual Christmas Toy and Coat Drive, presented by Ninety Six, a local marketing company. The event will take place on  Saturday, December 21st from 10am to 4pm at the LeRoy T. Walker Physical Education and Recreation Complex on the campus of North Carolina Central University.  All donated money, toys and coats will go to children in need in the Durham area.
