Website: Pullen Park Amusements Pullen Park is arguable one of the top parks in North Carolina for family recreation and entertainment. It was founded in 1887, making it the first public park in North Carolina. Situated on 66.33 acres, it has much to offer people of all ages. Attendance has increased drastically since the park reopened after a major renovation! There’s plenty to do for the entire family. Everyone is welcome to bring their blankets and picnic baskets and relax on the grass in the picnic area or participate in the fun activities that are scheduled throughout the day. Activities
Free Parking Free parking is available throughout the day at Hunt Drive Soccer Fields located at 75 Hunt Drive on Doretha Dix campus, Cates Avenue Parking Deck located on NC State’s Campus, Governor Morehead School parking lot located across the street from Pullen Park on Ashe Avenue, and at Pullen Park allocated spaces. No one is allowed to park along Western Blvd and is subject to be towed. Please contact Pullen Park’s Management office at 919.996.6468 if you have special needs.Click here for driving directions Free Shuttle Service Shuttle Service will be offered from Hunt Drive Soccer Fields on Dorthea Dix Campus. The first thousand people that use SHUTTLE SERVICE will receive one FREE ride ticket. Good for 1 ride on one of the following: Carousel, Kiddie Boats, and Miniature Train. FREE tickets are not valid for Pedal Boat rides. (Limit one ride ticket per individual.) FREE Ride tickets cannot be exchanged for cash and are good only on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Pullen Park. Take the CAT Bus Capital Area Transit provides bus service throughout Raleigh as well as R-LINE service in Downtown Raleigh. Hop aboard and leave the driving to CAT! There’s parking all around the campus and five fine restaurants that surround the lawn. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and many of the restaurants take their grills to the sidewalk, so food and beverage are only steps away. Everyone is welcome on the lawn where families can participate in fun activities and enjoy the Ol’ Bull River that runs through the middle of the campus. Restaurants (view complete list)
