Event Description

The first annual Peak City Book Festival is taking place at The Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex, NC on November 9th from 11AM-5PM.

The day-long event will feature:

Kid-Friendly Activities:

Story Time sessions, sponsored by The Learning Experience of Apex, scheduled every 45 minutes where parents and children can enjoy the time reading with different authors.
Street Art Workshop with High School Arts Teacher, Ian Sands.
Creative writing for Young Writers with best selling author, Ann Eisenstein.
Face Painting
Ice Cream from The Ice Cream Shop, Apex
"Froggie Bags" with a prize and snack
For Writers and Curious Readers:

Experience-based research for a novel, presented by best selling author, Tamara Ward. During her presentation, Tamara will discuss her experiences at the Writer's Police academies (complete with photos) and talk about how research, especially the hands-on variety, can enhance fiction writing.

Join us for a presentation by the Apex, NC based Martial Arts Training Center: Life Protection Skills Workshop. Get hands-on experience and build your knowledge to act and even write in life-saving scenes from an expert.


Fourteen year-old, Michael Macias, a music prodigy who plays by his heart, not by sight will be the featured musician. He's been blind since infancy. Producer, Brian Barnette will show trailers and talk about his efforts to produce the documentary, "What Michael Sees".
