Event Description

Find out what silkscreen is all about. This most versatile
printing technique is extremely ancient yet modern at the same
time– learn how to do simple silk-screening in your studio
without expensive tools or chemicals. This course covers knife-cut
stencils and the safe use of water-based inks. The project
will be based on printing an 8”x8” t-shirt- image. The class
will cover stretching and preparing the screen, cutting a paper
stencil, preparing to print, registration, printing and fixing the
final product. A discussion of the wide array of stencils, media
and techniques will be presented; however the class will be
limited to safe water-based inks. Please bring your sketches
and 100% cotton t-shirts (up to 5) that have been laundered to
print on. Project size is 8” x 8.” Tools provided. A $15 materials
fee is due to instructor the day of the workshop.
