Water Dash For Kenya
Date(s) & Time(s)::
April 27, 2013 at 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM
Location: 1305 White Oak Church Road, Apex, NC
Michura, Kenya is a village of about 1500 people who walk 6 kilometers round trip each day so that they can have the water they need for drinking, cooking, cleaning and bathing. Join us as we raise funds for our team to go and help them develop a water project that will not only relieve them from the daily 6K walk to and from the water source, but also provide them with clean water helping to alleviate water borne illnesses in the area.Return to event list.
While we run the race to clean water with them, we're going to experience what it means to live the life of hauling water for them. The race will start at the White Oak Trail head and participants will head to the Wimberley Road station where they will have the option of carrying water back to the finish line, just as a Kenyan has to carry water back home.
