Are you a dancer who loves the floor and wants to explore new ways of moving in and out of it? Or perhaps you are an experienced mover for whom going upside-down has always seemed a bit treacherous? Either way, leave your self-judgements at the door and come join us in a two-hour workshop exploring gravity, weight, and our relationship to the floor. In this class we will roll, slide, dive, leap, fall and fly in and out of the floor. Starting with a warm-up that emphasizes correct anatomical alignment and principles of efficiency, we will then transition into movement explorations designed to get you out of your usual habits and to break down physical challenges into manageable sequences. Bring your previous movement experience, long pants, an open mind and a willingness to make mistakes and we’ll see how far we can go! $18 class fee. Pre-registration required.
