Duke Sponsors Free Mental Health Screenings for the Community for National Depression Screening Day
Date(s) & Time(s)::
October 11, 2012
Clinical depression is a common medical illness affecting more than 19 million American adults each year. Like screenings for other illnesses, depression screenings should be a routine part of healthcare, but the stigma associated with the disease often prevents people from seeking help and getting treated.Return to event list.
National Depression Screening Day gives people access to an anonymous, validated, screening questionnaire and provides referral information for treatment. Duke will be hosting two screening locations, where information about Duke’s clinical services and research will be available. No registration is required, and walk-ins are welcome.
