Event Description

For beginning and intermediate students. Learn how to use butane and propane fusing torches as paint brushes. We will cover safety issues and explore the ways that wax can be manipulated through controlling fire. Encaustic paint, oil and dry pastels will be used to pigment your painting. You will learn how to create patterns and happy accidents by using large and small torches that will move the liquefied wax around until you’re satisfied with your composition. Ideally, each student will have a completed and archival piece at the end of the class. A $35 materials fee is due to instructor at each workshop. Please check DAC website for additional supply list.
